As part of its efforts to cultivate qualified talent in the field of carpet pattern design and application, the Southeastern Anatolia Carpet Exporters’ Association (GAHİB), in collaboration with Gaziantep University, is organizing the 11th Machine-Made Carpet Design Competition. The application process is currently ongoing.
Aimed at introducing young designers to the carpet industry, the competition welcomes applications via the official website: www.tasarlayindokuyalim.com. GAHİB has announced that the deadline for applications has been extended to May 16, 2025, and invites all university students to take part in this prestigious event.
Design empowers the carpet industry
Turkey has been a global leader in machine-made carpet exports for years and has become one of the most important production hubs in the world thanks to significant investments and progress over the last two decades.
The machine-made carpet industry aims to continue producing high-quality, original, and value-added products while maintaining its international competitive strength. To preserve the advantages held by Turkish companies in global markets, it is essential to develop new and unique collections and to respond to customer preferences accurately and in a timely manner.
In this context, GAHİB continues to implement various initiatives to increase the sector’s design capacity and train designers who will contribute to the industry. One such initiative is the Machine-Made Carpet Design Competition, held in cooperation with Gaziantep University (GAÜN).
The competition is organized in two categories:
- Participants from Gaziantep University
- Participants from Other Universities
All young designers are warmly invited to participate and showcase their creativity.
