DOMOTEX knows the rules of the game

05It could be an easy task to be pioneer in the sky for a flock of birds, however, it is not very easy to lead the way in a sector at a contemporary era like today. Show business is definitely one of the most difficult competitions in the world. Flooring show branch is a big one to challenge at and the name DOMOTEX is definitely the name to lead this group of business.

DOMOTEX sets global trends every year in Hannover where it holds its mother edition and it keeps setting regional trends at other three parts of the world; China, Russia and Turkey.

Leaders don’t like routine operations. They love changing and always finding new ideas and technologies or styles. To underline the huge potential and impressive innovations to be shown at the forthcoming Domotex, the organizers arranged a press conference in Berlin, Germany, on October 7. Press members from different parts of the world had a chance to listen 7 impressive presentations, a panel discussion and 10-company show previews.

Domotex Spokesperson Katharina Siebert made the official welcome address and introduced the speakers and outlined the event for the audience.

Dr. Jochen Koeckler, Member of the Board, Deutsche Messe AG, organizing company of Domotex, welcomed the guests as the host outlined the success of Domotex Hannover and Domotex worldwide, and expressed their determination for making the show more successful in the future editions. He briefed the Domotex story worldwide in general and Hannover main Domotex in particular. He said Domotex 2015 would be full of interesting surprises.

Stefan Diez, Chair of the Innovations at DOMOTEX jury introduced the way they choose the innovative products with special attention on the need to innovate. Asking different and interesting questions to all speakers Diez made the meeting a dynamic and participative event.

Roberto Palomba, architects and designers, Roberto Palomba, a famous architect and designer of Palomba Serafini Associati coming from Milan, made interesting and very unusual comments on design and on radical changes in styles. He offered interesting ideas on the importance of floors and said that the floor is the most important aspect of architecture.

Stefanie Fuhrmann, interior designer Augustinum from Freiburg made an interesting presentation on the role of floor coverings as an architectural design element and commented on various alternatives existing or to be innovated. Johannes Schulte, CEO of Vorwerk Carpets also addressed the audience on the same topic and commented on the flooring industry with impressive examples.

Paul De Cock, President of Unilin Flooring, Belgium, spoke about LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) as a growing product category in the flooring industry and the Unilin case. He described the production cycle and application of LVT with special attention on European manufacturing capacity for the item.

The panel discussion and company interviews were all made at a warm and friendly atmosphere. All attendees shared some common views on innovation, sustainability and durability. Every single attendee felt the excitement of seeing the event which seems that will offer most interesting ideas at the early days of 2015.
