Jaipur Rugs offers a new perspective on artisan life through collaboration with Artist Gurjeet Singh
Indian carpet brand Jaipur Rugs has introduced a new collection of 15 wall art pieces titled “Dreamers”, born out of its collaboration with artist Gurjeet Singh. In this body of work, the artist redefines the traditional art of weaving as a powerful tool for storytelling and emotional expression.
“A true exchange between artist and artisan”
Greg Foster, Creative Director at Jaipur Rugs, commented:
“This collaboration with Gurjeet Singh is a genuine exchange between the artist and the artisans. These rugs are the result of Gurjeet’s time spent in the weaving villages of rural Rajasthan, blending layered emotions with extraordinary craftsmanship to create collectible pieces.”
Like the artist, the brand also uses the Dreamers collection as a tribute to its artisans. By immersing himself in their daily lives—through shared conversations, meals, and personal stories—Gurjeet Singh drew inspiration for each piece. These are not simply rugs; they are emotional landscapes that embody longing, freedom, ambition, and identity.

Silent dreams brought to light
Speaking about the Dreamers collection, artist Gurjeet Singh said:
“I saw a reflection of silent dreams and deep resilience in the lives of the artisans. Artistic expression is intertwined with emotion; it is a direct reflection of personal experience and feeling.”
Known for his colorful soft sculptures, Gurjeet Singh brings a unique and heartfelt perspective to this collaboration. His exploration of identity, social structures, and human vulnerability offers a fresh take on the traditional art of knotting.
The rugs are meticulously handwoven by Jaipur Rugs artisans in Rajasthan, using a blend of cotton, silk, and wool. Vibrant colors, dynamic forms, and intricate patterns come together through century-old techniques. Each rug tells a personal story, reveals a hidden truth, or expresses an unspoken dream—inviting viewers to connect with the inner worlds of the artisans.
