The history of Uşak revives

Uşak University and Uşak Carpet Application Education and Research Center launched a new project to promote the historical values of the city.

The Uşak Collection was realized as a project of the Uşak University Faculty of Communication and the Uşak Carpet Application Education and Research Center. This project, including more than 200 products such as leather, rugs and textiles, was formed mainly by recycling special designs. 56 companies and artists were brought together to introduce Uşak to the world, and their artistic and daily use products were introduced. The products, bearing the Uşak label from home decoration to clothing, from bags to stationery, aim to carry Uşak values to the world. Beside these products, the introduction of historical Uşak carpet and nug are also important. And also, Uşak tarhana and halva that are products from the field of gastronomy take place.

Uşak, containing ancient structures such as Blaundos and Clandras Bridge, is known as a place, preserving and keeping our spiritual values alive from past to present. The handmade leather products, that are carefully prepared, are among the indispensable parts of this project. While handcraft represents the culture and personality of the local people, these products with high spiritual value show the importance of handcraft in the clearest way.

Carpet and rugs

From carpet to rug, chairs from trays to photo albums, many decoration products take place in this collection. This collection, mainly consisting of rugs, shows that Uşak has a wide portfolio in the cultural concept.

Garments

The Uşak Collection, realized in 2021, features special products such as handmade rugs, purses, wallets and dresses. Tourists, in particular, show great interest in the collection, in which local clothes draws attention too.

Dishes

Tarhana of Uşak, having a rich cuisine, one of the most important local dishes, known almost all the world. For that reason, tarhana has different varieties in many cities. So today Uşak arhana and soup attract attention of local people and tourists.
