‘DOKUMACA EFSANELER (LEGENDS)’ HAS MADE DEBUT…

14Merinos Textile Industry Museum, which is one of the most important centres in Bursa, is hosting ‘Dokumaca Efsaneler’ exhibition, organized with the sponsorship of Turkey Home Textile Industry and Business Association.

The works, in which thousand-year legends of Anatolia has been expressed by weaving, prepared as a result of four-year researches of Dokumaca Group, comprised of 11 students and one academic member, in which Prof. Dr. Günay Atalayer, setting his heart on weaving design, is president, has met with the art lovers in Bursa. Merinos Textile Industry Museum, gained to the city by Metropolitan Municipality, is hosting ‘Dokumaca Efsaneler’ exhibition, organized under the sponsorship of Turkey Home Textile Industry and Business Association. ‘Dokumaca Efsaneler’ exhibition, organized under the sponsorship of Turkey Home Textile Industry and Business Association (TETSİAD), has met with the art lovers in Bursa after Yıldız Sarayı Şehir Müzesi (Yıldız Palace City Museum) and Home&Tex Fair. The opening of the exhibition in Merinos Textile Industry Museum has been held with a ceremony in which Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe, Turkey Exporters Assembly (TİM) president Mehmet Büyü- kekşi, Bursa Trade and Industry Chamber President İbrahim Burkay, TETSİAD High Advisory Board Member and Özdilek Board Chairman Hüseyin Özdilek has participated.

The Next Stop Is Denizli…

Hüseyin Özdilek, Özdilek Board Chairman and TETSİAD High Advisory Board Member, speaking in the opening of the exhibition, has underlined that Anatolian territories, has a weaving culture, going back many years. Özdilek, stating that they will be glad to support every kind of works, made in order not to be forgotten of this culture, has underlined that ten-thousand-year culture is the best richness matter. Özdilek, mentioning that they feel happy due to be sponsor for such kinds of organizations, as an association, give the good news that the next stop of the exhibition will be Denizli.

‘They Will Encourage Young Talented People…’

BTSO Board Chairman İbrahim Burkay has emphasized that ‘Dokumaca’ exhibition is very important for the sector. Burkay, stating that sector is being empowered when design, innovation and Research and Development has been brought together, said that ‘we see that Burse is the heart of the sector from the angles of aesthetics, art and Research and Development. I congratulate all the people, contributing efforts to the opening of the exhibition. TETSİAD is the biggest umbrella organization of home textile sector and it has been conducting a lot of social projects. The young people working on this field will be encouraged with the works’ being exhibited on such platforms.’

“Discover Your Textile Potential”

Turkey Exporters Assembly (TİM) President Mehmet Büyükekşi has mentioned that a story related to 10-thousand-tear weaving in the exhibition. Büyükekşi said that ‘The target is the same here. You are valuable as much as how old company you are and how many years you have experienced in the sector. Textile sector is very important for both Turkey and Bursa. In order to tell this potential to the whole world, we will say that discover your textile potential of Turkey. We should tell out tradition, dating back to ten thousand years in such kinds. This exhibition is dramatically important. I thank all of them, contributing to this exhibition.’

“An Irreplaceable Sector”

Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe, has attracted the attention to the fact that Bursa is a locomotive city in development and a city producing its own brands. Mayor Altepe, mentioning that textile is a basic sector such as food, said that ‘Turkey has some targets. If the cities grasp these targets Turkey will also reach its targets. Bursa is the first city when textile is said. Textile is a basic sector such as food; an irreplaceable sector, which is also promising hope. The place in which we are is a factory opened by Atatürk. It was founded to develop the textile and it has accomplished its mission. Private sector has developed itself more in the textile sector. The factory of Merinos is within the body of this museum, now. I find it so meaningful that such an exhibition is being opened in Merinos Textile Industry Museum, the cornerstone of textile industry in factory field. I want to thank those who contributed.’ The protocol members has toured the exhibition and got some information about the works from young artists after the speeches made. In the exhibition, the works of Başak Özdemir Uysal, Buket Pekel, Esat Destanoğlu, Feriha Işıldar, Gül Bolulu, Gülhan Güleçer, Günay Aykaç Atalayer, Işıl Eraslan, Nurten Yüksel, and Selime Amanjani, Şafak Akalın, Şenay Takuş, Yasemin Özbey and Özge Usluca has been found successful by participants, also.
