Domotex heads to Mexico City this fall

The Domotex franchise is setting its sights on the Latin American market with the debut of its newest show — Domotex Mexico — to be held in Mexico City October 15-19 in conjunction with Expo CIHAC, the largest construction materials show in Latin America.

Here at the inaugural Domotex USA event, Eugenio Carrillo, group show director Hannover Fairs Mexico, explained to FCW why now is the right time to bring a show to the Latin American market, pointing specifically to its booming construction market which is ripe for product innovation.

“We want to make connections between suppliers, specifiers and remodelers in Mexico, and it’s good timing to because of the real estate boom here in commercial and housing, and the increased demand for flooring solutions,” said Carrillo. “In Mexico City, the commercial and office market is growing rapidly.”

Domotex Mexico is new opportunity point

And with cement, tile and marble dominating this particular market, Carrillo said Domotex Mexico will bring professional buyers in this market the opportunity to specify soft surface and other textiles as well as other hard surface products such as hardwood.

“We will focus on the same product segments as in Germany while also displaying new and innovative stone and ceramic products,” said Carrillo. “We will have a diverse group of suppliers from different countries — 50 percent of exhibitors will be from outside of Mexico. But we understand that we need to be flexible and adjust to market needs.”

The goal for Domotex Mexico, said Carrillo, is to provide a professional meeting place for the flooring industry in Mexico. “This will be the first show dedicated to flooring solutions,” he said. “We want to bring the Domotex brand to the region to reach the Latin American customer, and with the Domotex brand behind us, we’re not starting from scratch.”

Expo CIHAC experience at Domotex Mexico!

And with Expo CIHAC anticipating upwards of 30,000 paying attendees, Carrillo said having Domotex Mexico situated within the largest construction materials show in the region will bring exhibitors opportunities to have meaningful conversations with professional buyers, developers and members of the A & D community.
