Health at the floor

The “healthy” principle, becoming our first priority in every product we buy recently, is entering our homes with the DesignFloor brand on the floor.

DesignFloor, making a big service net with more than 135 selling points in Turkey, the Middle East and Central Asia, serves the domestic market with 75 dealers. The brand, which includes products that have the PEFC certificate, which is a fo- rest certification approval program, brings especially healthy, environmentally friendly and carcinogen-free products to consumers. DesignFloor General Director Fatih Aslan stated that they are very confident in their brands and their goal is to export to the world with completely unique DesignFloor products.

Can you tell us about the Design Floor brand?

Our brand, which has been operating since 2006, pro- duces qualified flooring products. After I took office in the company, we started to work to appeal to higher segment customers and directed our route in this way. We have turned our company, which was previ- ously the distributor of various brands, into a brand that produces special products, which is neither a manufacturer nor an importer under its name. After this process, the process to spread to Turkey began. Now, we have around 75 dealers and this num- ber is increasing every month. Our goal is to be in all 81 provinces.

What would you like to say about the flooring produ- cts you produce and their properties?

We sell high-tech and upper segment products which are waterproof like laminated, laminated flooring and hi-tech laminate flooring, which we call LVT. We produce them within a certain program. We attach great importance that the products we sell are environmentally friendly and do not contain carcinogenic substances. That is a priority for us. It is important for us that the consumer will use long-life and healthy product. It is because it is the product, di- rectly contacting with skin. Basically the babies touch parquets with their hands and also lick. We cannot take a risk to earn much. We rely on our product. Even I claim that there are no brands, trusting their produ- cts as much as we do.

Where are your products manufactured?

We are making the firms which have certain accredi- tations and certificates such as low emission, CE and PEFC in France and Germany manufacture. We ensu- re that personal carbon footprint is kept to a minimum within the scope of sustainability. While glossy parqu- ets have AC4 wear layer and 32nd class strength, they can last for many years without the need for scraper polish. After producing, we have a lot of waste. We made a new study about it and we make this waste wood for fireplace. We want to operate it in social media. It is because its amount is very much.

Where do you export? What are your future goals?

We export to Iran, Iraq and Malta. We had different and new ideas with the sales points in these countries we export to. However, the pandemic process caused us to postpone these studies. We do not have any barriers to export to different countries. Before these, there are studies we need to do to pave the way for exports. The companies we make manufacture have dealers in European countries. We need to customize these products that we have made in order to export here. We do not consider it ethically appropriate to export there without doing this.
