New investments from Başaran Halı in the new year

Başaran Halı, exporting 80 % of its production, goes on working about online sales.

Başaran Halı, leaving 35 years behind in the sector, will make new investments in 2021. Başaran Halı General Manager İbrahim Dayıoğlu, saying they overcome the effects of the difficulties that come with 2020, stated that they also plan to start online sales next year.

First of all, can we ask you about Başaran Halı and its brands?

Our brand’s story started with Başaran Tuhafiye in the 1970s. Then in 1985 we started to produce carpet. We have completed our 35th year in the sector. We sell with our abroad sales and marketing company Premier, and Prestige in domestic sales and marketing. Our company can produce around 5 million square meters of carpet annually by using the latest technologies in its production lines. We also produce PP yarn by ourselves.

How did the recent pandemic process affect the domestic market and exports?

The pandemic process in early 2020 almost stopped the production in April and May. But after June, more hopeful developments took place. Later, with the intense demands from abroad triggered production. Currently, there is a situation above the expectations for 2020. Domestic markets also partially took their share of this.

Can you give information about your new products? Which products are the people looking for in this period?

Our foreign customers tended to more economical carpets for online sales. But sales of other qualities continue to a certain extent. Customers prefer more pattern and color harmony as well as economical carpets. As the carpet culture is more dominant in the domestic carpet market, acrylic products are preferred. At the same time, decorative products are up to date. With our Prestige Halı brand, we make acrylic, custom-sized hallway rugs and digitally printed carpet collections for our domestic customers and offer up-to-date colors and patterns to our customers.

Can you give information about the developments in export studies?

Başaran Halı is a brand which exports 80 % of its production to various countries over the world and focuses on customer satisfaction and quality in the sector. We are going on exporting many countries such as USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Europe. In 2021 we will continue to work with new investments by targeting the product and quality variety.

What are your studies and thoughts about online sales? How is the carpet sector about this topic?

An increase occurred in the online sales all over the world after pandemic. Now it shows growing signals about the online sales in USA and Europe markets. In Turkey there is an increase on online carpet market. I think this increase will be more in the next years. We continue the studies about infrastructure of online sales and plant to begin to sell in 2021.

What would you like to add last?

Our company will be a sought-after brand in the sector without compromising its vision and stability. As Gaziantep, we produce 70% of the machine carpet production in the world. I believe that as long as we can maintain our innovative and competitive structure with common sense, we will maintain this leadership and our success.
