Turkiye, which is among the four countries capable of producing products in all furniture groups worldwide, continues its export efforts without slowing down in the furniture sector. The Furniture Associations Federation (MOSFED), which brings together manufacturers from north to south and from east to west of Turkiye under one roof and represents the voice of the sector, is working with all its might to increase the presence of domestic production in the world. While Turkiye is increasing its presence in the Saudi Arabian market again with the positive relations developed in recent years, manufacturers are making intensive efforts to ensure uninterrupted exports. Ahmet Güleç, the President of MOSFED, emphasized the importance of exports for the country’s economy and the increase of its strength in global trade, saying, “Exports are very important for our country to maintain its economic stability and increase its power in global trade. We are also working intensively on this issue. Turkish furniture is loved and welcomed in every country it is discovered in,” he said.

Saudi Arabia ranks among the top 10 countries with the highest exports Following the increase in positive relations between Turkiye and Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia has positioned itself among the top 10 countries where Turkiye exports the most furniture. In the first five months of 2023, the furniture sector achieved approximately $50 million worth of exports to Saudi Arabia. While manufacturers strive to strengthen their presence in the market through new sales channels and dealerships, the aim is to surpass this figure by the end of the year. Güleç emphasized the popularity of Turkish products in the region, stating, “Saudi Arabia is not a foreign market for us. Although there have been fluctuations in short-term exports, we have been present in that region for years, and our products are highly appreciated in that geography. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is an important market due to its high purchasing power. It is gratifying to increase our presence in a region where our products are recognized, known, and loved. We are currently working in harmony with qualified sales channels, representatives, and purchasing experts in the region. Moreover, while manufacturers from there come to our market, participate in our furniture fair, we also increase our presence there. Creating such trade environments where positive dialogues increase is of great importance.”

The goal is to solidify their position in the market Turkiye, along with the United States, China, and Italy, is one of the four producer countries in the world in terms of production volume and diversity, and it also offers many varieties in exports to the Saudi Arabian market. In Saudi Arabia, particularly luxury groups are in demand, as well as living room sets, work groups, beds/bases, office furniture, and accessories. Güleç emphasized their goal of solidifying their position in the market, saying, “There is a good level of interest in the market, and we are happy about it. In the coming period, there will be a need for many more furniture items in Saudi Arabia, including hotel renovations, newly constructed residences, and various planned structures in different fields. Our manufacturers can expect busy days ahead. Thanks to our strong dealerships, we will focus on increasing our exports as much as possible. We also believe that our smart furniture solutions, which have been a trend in recent years, will attract attention in this market.”
